MUSTARD SEED

From: $6.50 inc GST

Mustard plants are quick to produce bulk organic matter. They are excellent for suppressing weeds and cleaning up some harmful soil fungi. Once dug into the soil mustard breaks down very quickly. Mustard is known to aid in the control of wireworm, nematodes etc, which are problems often associated with root crops like potatoes & carrots.

Time: Sow mustard between spring and autumn, chop just prior to flowering and dig into the soil 6 weeks prior to re-planting.

Sow Rate: 5g per m2

Note: Mustard & radish belong to the brassica family like so they shouldn’t be used as a green crop prior to growing brassicas (like cabbage) of any kind.
