SWEET PEA MAMMOTH MIXED

Botanical name – Lathyrus odoratus

Early flowering. Free flowering over a long period. Ideal for cutting having long stems. Needs a fence or trellis and lots of sun.

How To Grow:
Sow late Summer through to late Autumn – Spring too in cold districts, 12mm deep in flowering position. Thin out to 20cm  apart. Prepare soil well with organic matter and compost about 1 month before sowing. Ensure soil is damp when sowing as this will usually negate any need for additional watering until seedlings appear. Seedlings emerge 10-14 days. Flowers in 12-14 weeks.

Soil Type: well drained
Important Note: Sweet peas do not like ‘wet feet’ so it is for this reason that we do not recommend pre-soaking seeds prior to sowing.
