SAN MARZANO TOMATO

Named for the Italian town, San Marzano, this is a long, paste, plum tomato with few seeds. It is the tomato commonly used in Italian canned tomatoes. A good variety for preserves and salsas. While sweet in flavour, they are a low acid tomato.
