About Sulphate of Ammonia
Sulphate of Ammonia is made by treating ammonia gas with sulphur in a heated reactor. It is a synthetic fertiliser containing nitrogen and sulphur both elements are essential for strong healthy plant growth.
The advantage with sulphate of ammonia over other synthetic nitrogen fertilisers is that when it is converted by soil microbes into plant available nitrate when needed making less susceptible to leaching.
Sulphate of Ammonia is used to encourage leafy growth in pasture, lawns and vegetables.
Application Rates: One medium-sized handful of Sulphate of Ammonia is approximately 70g
Lawn: 40g/sq, m about every 4-6 weeks early spring to early autumn, water in well. .
Veggie Garden: 30g g/sq, m early spring to early autumn, water in well.
Established trees & shrubs: Apply 35g/sq. m around established plants. Gently fork into the soil surface without disturbing the roots.
Note: Rinse product from foliage. Storage: Keep dry and out of the reach of children
